Draconic and outdated Self Employed Medisave rules

More than 10 years ago I was a director of my real estate firm making more than $20K a month.

But due to diabetes I was sick and unable to work for some time. I have a Medisave liability of $6088 which I am not able to settle now due to my right leg was amputated in December 2018 while in TTSH and I am unable to work until now. My business licence is due for renewal on 26th February 2019 and have since expired as there is no way I can settle the Medisave liabilities with cash. I have written in to CPF but they have rejected all my proposals ;

1) Use my uncle Medisave to settle my medisave liabilities but was rejected by CPF.

2) Use my OA to settle my medisave liabilities.

I have applied for aid for my disability from Jalan Besar Social Service office in December 2018 but up to now the reply is I have to wait until I am discharged before I can make a claim. Without renewing my business licence I am unable to apply for any funding or innovation grant and the rules of the CPF is so draconic and outdated that instead of helping citizens, CPF has put roadblocks all the way for the self employed. I intend to appeal and I want the public to know what is happening so outdated rules that do not serve us should be changed.

Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

PS : CPF is our money, what we owe for Medisave Liabilities does not belong to the Government. Even with permanent disability CPF still wants to collect cash from you or you cannot renew your business licence. What Logic is this?

My Request

I have a Medisave liability of $6088 for self employed about more than 10 years ago. In December 2018 I have diabetes and has my right leg was amputated at TTSH and so I am unable to work without any income. I have applied for welfare at Jalan Besar Social Office but they will only help me after I am discharged from hospital. I want to apply to either use my OA to pay my Medisave liabilities, or waive it altogether as I do not have an income at present.

Remark (From CPF Board)
