“The cure for diabetes has been found, it is designing the right medication to take away waste and excessive sugar from the blood capillaries found in the eyes, brain, heart and feet, preventing organ damage. Insulin is the indirect method, there is now a direct method. After a meal, it is now possible to reduce the spike in blood sugar based on the BMI of a person to have the correct dosage throughout the day, and create a constant, that will totally cure the condition of diabetes.” – Contributed by Oogle.
The new drug will have these functions :
1) Blood Plasma, which constitutes 55% of blood fluid, is mostly water (92% by volume), and contains dissipated proteins, glucose, mineral ions, hormones, carbon dioxide (plasma being the main medium for excretory product transportation), and blood cells themselves. Albumin is the main protein in plasma, and it functions to regulate the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood. What type of drugs will help take away waste products(especially excess sugar) from blood plasma?
2) Tresiba. Insulin degludec is a ultralong-acting basal insulin analogue being developed by Novo Nordisk under the brand name Tresiba. It is injected subcutaneously three-times a week to help control the blood sugar level of those with diabetes. It has a duration of action that lasts up to 40 hours, unlike the 18 to 26 hours provided by current marketed long-acting insulins such as insulin glargine and insulin detemir.
Insulin degludec is a modified insulin that has one single amino acid deleted in comparison to human insulin, and is conjugated to hexadecanedioic acid via gamma-L-glutamyl spacer at the amino acid lysine at position B29.
3) Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors are saccharides that act as competitive inhibitors of enzymes needed to digest carbohydrates: specifically alpha-glucosidase enzymes in the brush border of the small intestines. The membrane-bound intestinal alpha-glucosidases hydrolyze oligosaccharides, trisaccharides, and disaccharides to glucose and other monosaccharides in the small intestine.
Acarbose also blocks pancreatic alpha-amylase in addition to inhibiting membrane-bound alpha-glucosidases. Pancreatic alpha-amylase hydrolyzes complex starches to oligosaccharides in the lumen of the small intestine.
Inhibition of these enzyme systems reduces the rate of digestion of carbohydrates. Less glucose is absorbed because the carbohydrates are not broken down into glucose molecules. In diabetic patients, the short-term effect of these drugs therapies is to decrease current blood glucose levels: the long term effect is a small reduction in hemoglobin A1c level.
P/S : I was warded in IMH for diabetes for 1 and 1/2 months and was discharged in Sept 17th 2012 after it was under control, all the while I had actriped and mustard 30. I was referred to NUH diabetes dept and the stupid doctor cut my actrepid prescription, but because the cost is too expensive after using my medisave of $300/year and cash of about $100 every visit, I did not take my prescription, and rely on my old prescription which does not have any problems. Now at Tampines Polyclinic, as all the doctors are not higher than the NUH doctor, they refuse to give me actrepid and the government tries to be very funny by withdrawing all this type of medication from the whole market, trying to blackmail people to buy the clickpen or novo pen 4 or 5 which is 3 times more expensive, very simply, I will refuse to see any doctor anymore and will resolve the issue myself, who needs a FUCKING government like Singapore.
My symptoms. Very thirsty. Drink excessive water. Go urine very often. Weight loss. Bleeding Gums. Skin rashes due to sugar on skin. Feet very sensitive with prickling pain. Leg cramps very early in the morning, 50% due to using the fan. Need to drink cold water, bathe in cold water to control temperature of body. Small blood clot in right eye that cause a slight blur vision. Normally what is serious is when your taste change and you have bleeding gums, without medication you will get first damage to your eyes blood capillaries within 2 weeks, all other capillaries near your brain/heart can also be affected, then your kidneys will fail within 3 months, even causing your legs to freeze within six months. So because it is a slow killing disease, damage can easily be prevented by controlling your blood/sugar, protect your eyes and your feet.
