The architectural world has been riding on the wave of using shipping containers. I can easily build an entire living eco-system for a community with minimum cash outlay using shipping containers for rooms space stacked above one another, and built-in generator with aircon, and common toilet facilities for bath, washing and toilet, garbage area, carpark including a wash area for coin-operated washing machine. But due to limitations it will never be higher than 6 stories, most of the costs will be due to land costs, it will be cheaper than buying a car, you can also add amenities like children playground, shops in the same function like hairstylists and grocery stores, but shops are not suited for containers because they have different needs. These homes have a shorter lifespan of about 20-25 years, but it will merge with Micro, Shoebox and other Apartment concepts to lower the cost of living, it is not suitable for densely populated areas. If I want I can easily add Extended WiFi base stations and cellular base stations for total amenities.
